The image is a diagram illustrating a network architecture labeled with several components. At the top, there are three blue rectangles, each representing a virtual machine (VM), arranged horizontally within a cloud outline. Below the cloud, there is a larger green rectangle labeled "TSN Gateway." Adjacent to it is a yellow rectangle labeled "TSN capable NIC." Below these components, there is an orange circle leading to a blue rectangle labeled "TSN Switch." The overall arrangement represents a configuration for network management with a focus on Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), showing how different virtual machines connect through the gateway and switch.

Cloud based monitoring systems in a TSN network

Summary

The ICNAP Research Sprint aimed to integrate a real-time monitoring application on the Fraunhofer Edge Cloud into the IPT Shopfloor. Due to restricted access to FEC Hypervisors, configuration was handled by the German Edge Cloud. Real-time communication was achieved using a TSN gateway connected to a TSN-capable NIC, which allowed VMs to send data with proper scheduling and priority settings.
